A former Schuylkill County district attorney is now working under her one-time assistant.

Attorney Christine A. Holman, of Ryan Township, is the new solicitor for the Clerk of Courts office.

Her position and salary of $2,448 a year were confirmed Wednesday by the Salary Board. She starts work on July 3.

She’ll be working for Clerk of Courts Maria T. Casey, who was first assistant district attorney while Holman was in office.

Holman replaces Attorney Frederick J. Fanelli, who has retired.

The first woman to be elected district attorney in the county in 2013, Holman worked with Casey and Chief County Detective Dolly Dronick Malec as the county’s three top cops.

Holman, a Republican, lost her bid for a second term to Democratic Attorney Michael A. O’Pake in the November 2017 General Election.
