State police at Lehighton
State police at the Lehighton barracks released details on the following incidents:
• A 19-year-old Jim Thorpe man is being charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop they made at 1:44 a.m. May 27.
Police said they stopped him for Motor Vehicle Code violations while he was driving a 2015 Dodge Ram truck at the intersection of Route 903 and the Maury Road in Penn Forest Township.
• Police said a 71-year-old Palmerton woman reported to them on May 21 that someone contacted her requesting $4,000 in cash through bitcoins. Police said the woman is not out any money because of the incident.
• Police are investigating the theft of an all-terrain vehicle that was reported taken between midnight June 1 and 2 p.m. June 3 at a property at 13 Bowman Road, Penn Forest Township.
Police said a Huguenot, New York, resident said the black 2007 Polaris was taken from a detached garage on the property.
• Police are investigating the theft of a portable toilet from a site in Penn Forest Township.
Police said they were called to Pool Drive in the township where a man told them the toilet had been located inside a parking/lot entrance to Bear Creek Lakes and was last seen by members of the community association around 5 p.m. March 31.
The unit has a value of $4,000, police said.
• Steven Longenbach, 34, of Slatington, is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop at 9:42 p.m. May 30 at the intersection of Route 248 and Club Road in Lower Towamensing Township.
Police said they stopped him for Motor Vehicle Code violations while driving a 2007 Honda.
Police determined he was not operating an ignition interlock vehicle and was in possession of a controlled substance.
• Police were summoned at 6:24 p.m. May 31 to a property on Beers Way, Ross Township, to investigate a kidnap/unlawful restraint case.
Police said the victim is a 38-year-old woman from Kunkletown.
Police said she was identified as a missing person and was located in Seaside Heights, New Jersey, and returned to the barracks for a formal interview during and declined prosecution of the person involved.
