Lehighton Police say DUI charges are pending against a borough man following a traffic stop.

Borough police initiated a traffic stop at 3:45 p.m. May 29 for routine traffic violations.

During the interaction with the 19-year-old driver, police saw signs of impairment.

Roadside sobriety testing was administered and the man agreed to a blood tests. The results are pending.

Additionally, throughout the investigation, consent for the vehicle to be searched was obtained. A controlled substance and related drug paraphernalia were discovered as a result of the search.
