Monroe County crashes

State police at Stroudsburg released details on the following incidents:

• James A. Shook Jr., 67, of Bartonsville, was cited for obedience to traffic control devices after a two-vehicle crash at 10:12 p.m. May 13 on Route 611 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 1998 Mazda that was exiting the Crossroads complex, attempting to cross five lanes of traffic, when the vehicle struck a 2013 Nissan Altima driven by Nyjamah A. Muqarrabin, 22, of Tobyhanna, who was northbound on Route 611 at the time.

No one was injured in the incident.

Muqarrabin was cited for not having insurance for the vehicle.

• Kaila N. Willis, 27, of Saylorsburg, is facing criminal charges of accidents involving damage to an attended vehicle or property after she left the scene of a two-vehicle crash at 5:17 p.m. May 19 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was driving a 217 Nissan Altima northbound when she attempted to pass in an unsafe manner a 2007 Subaru Lagacy driven by Saige J. Embley, 21, also of Saylorsburg, striking the vehicle.

Police said both drivers stopped on the right shoulder of Cherry Valley Road and Willis then fled the scene without providing Embley insurance information.

They said Embley was able to take a photo of the license plate on the Altima and said a photo lineup was provided to Embley who accurately identified Willis.

No one was hurt in the incident.

• Lidia E. Kromka, 58, of Saylorsburg, escaped injuries in a crash involving a deer at 5:59 p.m. May 11 on Rimrock Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Kia Soul southbound when the deer entered its path and was struck. The car came to rest in the right shoulder on the road and sustained disabling damages, police said.

• A Stroudsburg woman sustained suspected minor injuries in a two-vehicle mishap at 2:52 p.m. May 1 at the intersection of Route 209 and Hickory Valley Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said she was driving a 2018 Volvo that struck a 2008 Mercedes Benz driven by Rizos N. Katranis, 72, of Stroudsburg, that failed to yield to the Volvo.

Both vehicles sustained disabling damages, police said.

Katranis was cited for a stop/yield sign violation.

• Nathaniel P. Bourque, 22, of Bartonsville, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 10:55 p.m. May 10 on Route 33 in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2009 Pontiac G6 southbound when he lost control of the vehicle, It crossed into the left lane, left the roadway, struck a guide wire and spin 360 degrees before striking a guide rail again. The car sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

• Police said a woman was injured in a one-vehicle mishap at 5:58 p.m. May 27 on Greenview Drive in Hamilton Township.

Police said the extent of injuries to Nicole R. Shoemaker, 34, are unknown. She was not transported to a medical facility.

Police said she was driving a 2013 Ford Fiesta westbound when it exited the right side of the road and struck a support wire for a utility pole.

The car sustained disabling damages.

Police said Shoemaker was cited for the incident.
