A statue in honor of Northern Lehigh School District’s mascot was dedicated Friday evening.
It was held a few minutes before commencement exercises began for the graduating class of 2023 at Bulldog Community Stadium.
The four class officers from the graduating class of 2020, President Reagan Pender, Vice President Jason Check, secretary Brianna Schuck, and treasurer Calvin Shelly cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the Bulldog statue.
Class of 2020 Funds left over from Northern Lehigh High School’s graduation class of 2020 were used to buy the statue, which is placed on the premises of the stadium.
The Class of 2020 asked the district in May 2021 to make an exception for class funds that expired due to the pandemic.
Jason Check said at that time the class had about $10,500 in leftover funds, and that class advisers said the money could be used after the pandemic ended.
