The Carbon County Commissioners acted on or discussed the following items during their weekly meeting on Thursday.
• Approved the Children and Youth Services third quarter invoice report which will result in the county receiving $1,298,558.
• Approved the 2023-2024 insurance renewal with the Pennsylvania Counties Risk Pool for June 1 through May 31, 2024 at a total cost of $452,648, an increase of $67,421.
• Approved a request from Area Agency on Aging’s administrator for an agreement with Behavioral Health Associates to provide career employment to BHA students at the Jim Thorpe/Penn-Kidder Senior Center and Panther Valley Senior Center. The agreement is for the 2023-2024 school year, ending in August 2024 at no cost to the county.

• Resignations: Michael A. Burdette Jr. of Nesquehoning, part-time K-9 officer, effective May 19; and Mark J. Kokinda of Lansford and Mason E. Marchessault of Lehighton, lifeguards, both effective May 18.
• Change of status: Kristy A. Cummins of Lehighton, from deputy sheriff to legal secretary III, public defender, effective June 5.
• Acknowledgments: Court resignation: Christopher Marcolla of Cressona, probation officer I, juvenile probation, effective May 30; appointment: Renee L. Snyder of Allentown, probation officer I, adult probation, effective May 30; personal leave of absence: Angela C. Sallemi of Kingston, from June 14 to July 28; controller retirement: Judith A. Doolittle of Jim Thorpe, fiscal/data processing assistant, effective June 6.
