A 71-year-old Slatington man is the victim of a theft by deception case in which $13,988.48 was stolen from him.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said they were summoned to a property on Route 873 in North Whitehall Township.

The man told them someone fraudulently altered and cashed bank check of his between April 10 and May 4 in that total amount.
