A Schuylkill County judge has revoked the probation of a Lansford woman who violated its terms.
Michelle Marie Rex, 48, Lansford, was charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia on Nov. 30, 2020.
She pleaded guilty to both charges on Aug. 24, 2021.
On the controlled substance charge, Judge Christina E. Hale sentenced her to 12 months on probation.
She also ordered Rex to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee.
She also ordered Rex to perform 150 hours of community service, and to submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow up with any recommended treatment.
On the paraphernalia charge, Judge Hale ordered Rex to an additional 12 months on probation, and ordered her to perform another 50 hours of community service.
But on April 25, Hale revoked her probation, and sent Rex back to jail for four to 12 months, with credit for 54 days already served.
Rex may apply for parole on or after July 2. Hale again ordered her to submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation and follow up with any recommended treatment.
If inpatient treatment is recommended, she may be placed on parole early if a bed is available.
In other rulings, Judge Hale accepted guilty pleas and sentenced these people:
Travis David Colt, 25, Ringtown, was charged by West Penn Township police with burglary; loitering and prowling at night time; theft; defiant trespass, actual communication to; harassment; disorderly conduct; and criminal mischief on Nov. 5, 2022.
He pleaded guilty to the trespass and conduct charges. The remaining charges were dropped.
On the trespass charge, Judge Hale sentenced Colt to pay court costs; a $50 monthly supervision fee; a total of $150 in other fees; to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee; submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation; and serve 12 months on probation.
On the conduct charge, Judge Hale sentenced him to an additional 12 months on probation.
Emily Ann Kehl, 31, Tuscarora, was charged by state police at Frackville with driving under the influence, incapable of driving safely, first offense; driving under the influence, highest rate of alcohol, first offense; disregarding traffic lanes; and failing to keep right on Jan. 25, 2022.
She pleaded guilty to the charge of DUI, highest rate of alcohol. The remaining charges were dropped.
Judge Hale sentenced her to six months on restrictive probation on the charge of driving under the influence, highest rate of alcohol. Her sentence began on May 5.
In addition, Judge Hale ordered Kehl to pay court costs; pay a $1,000 fine; pay $77.14 restitution to the state; pay $300 to the Substance Abuse Education Fund; pay $75 to the MCARE Fund; and pay a $50 monthly supervision fee.
Judge Hale also ordered her to complete Alcohol Highway Safety School; complete one to three months of outpatient substance abuse treatment; surrender her license for 12 months; use an ignition interlock system for 12 months; and perform 10 hours of community service.
Paige Marie Abel, 52, Lehighton, was charged by West Penn Township police with aggravated assault; resisting arrest; and a second count of aggravated assault on March 15, 2022.
She pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault; the remaining charges were dropped.
Judge Hale sentenced her to time served, from Oct. 28, 2022 to April 20, 2023 to 23 months in jail, with immediate parole; to submit to a mental health evaluation and follow up with any recommended treatment; to pay court costs; pay $150 in fees; and to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee.
James Lewis, 54, Philadelphia, was charged by Tamaqua police with possession of a controlled substance; possession of drug paraphernalia; and driving while his operating privileges were suspended or revoked on Dec. 1, 2019.
Lewis pleaded guilty to the charges.
On the controlled substance charge, Judge Hale sentenced him to time served, from April 5 to April 12, to 12 months in jail, with immediate parole; pay court costs; pay $150 in fees; pay $113 in restitution to the Bethlehem Crime Lab; and to submit to a drug and alcohol evaluation.
On the paraphernalia charge, she sentenced him to 12 months of probation, to be served at the same time as the first sentence.
On the driving charge, Judge Hale sentenced Lewis to pay a $400 fine and a total of $77 in fees.
Dustin Eugene Wolfe, 36, Tamaqua, was charged by Tamaqua police with theft of leased property on Oct. 28, 2022.
He pleaded guilty, and Judge Hale sentenced him to pay court costs; pay a $50 monthly supervision fee; pay $150 in fees; pay $1,500 in restitution to Rent-A-Center; to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee; and serve 18 months on probation.
