Franklin Township police log
The Franklin Township Police Department reported on the following incidents:
• At 5:30 p.m. March 31, a one-vehicle crash was reported in the 800 block of Forest Street. Randolph B. Green, 45, of Palmerton, was charged with driving under the influence and additional traffic offenses.
• At 1:40 p.m. April 1, a burglary was reported at a business on Interchange Road. One offender has been identified, and additional suspects are being investigated.
• At 2:44 p.m. April 2, a criminal trespass of an unoccupied residence on Fairyland Road was reported. .
• At 4:37 p.m. April 3, a theft of movable property valued at $2.50 was reported in the unit block of Main Road. Nelson W. Hughes, 49, has been charged with theft.
• At 7:22 p.m. April 3, a complaint was received of a 3-wheel off-road vehicle being operated in the 1000 block of Main Road. A 25-year-old township resident was charged with a summary traffic offense.
• At 2:04 p.m. April 4, a property owner along the Maury Road reported an abandoned watercraft scattered on the property.
• On April 4, a theft of a Huskee 35-ton log splitter valued at $850 was reported from a residence on Pine Top Drive.
• At 2:48 p.m. April 11, a victim reported her debit card having been used without permission at an ATM at an Interchange Road business. A family member of the victim was identified as the offender. The victim refused prosecution at this time.
• On April 24, the department was notified by the Pennsylvania State Police - Firearms Division, that a denial of a purchase of a gun had occurred at a township dealer on Oct. 30, 2021. This denial was based upon fraudulent paperwork being filed by the suspect. Charges are pending against a 38-year-old Whitehall resident.
• At 12:33 p.m. May 3, police were summoned to the unit block of Main Road, for a man acting aggressively and erratically with family and mental health personnel. Ryan Henning, 45, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
• At 12:56 a.m. May 8, a report of an erratic driver on Fairyland Road was received. The offending vehicle was subsequently located on Church Street, and the driver, a 36-year-old man from Reading, did exhibit numerous indicators of being impaired.
