A large garage was destroyed by a swift-moving fire Wednesday morning in Mahoning Township.
Mahoning Valley fire Chief Mark Ebbert said the fire broke out at 10:25 a.m. at a detached garage at 44 Boyko Drive.
“The garage was fully involved when the first units arrived,” Ebbert said.
Ebbert said the garage was a total loss.
He said firefighters were on scene for a little more than two hours because there was extensive overhaul and mop up.
“There was exposure to the house, which did sustain some damage,” Ebbert said. “And there was a small brush fire in the woods area that it also started.”
Ebbert said there were occupants at home at the time, but everyone got out safe.
No injuries were reported, he said.
Ebbert said the fire is under investigation.
He said also assisting at the scene were the Lehighton Fire Department, Franklin Township Fire Company, and a tanker out of Jim Thorpe.
