ON THIS DATE MAY 17, 1963

Miss Nan Jenkins will retire July 1 after 27 years as assistant superintendent of schools, according to an announcement to that effect made by the Nesquehoning educator at a meeting of the Carbon County School Board held in the office of Superintendent Stuart E. Prutzman.

Jenkins is a graduate of Nesquehoning High School, Bloomsburg State College, Pennsylvania State University, Johns Hopkins University and New York University.

She is Carbon County’s second woman to hold the assistant superintendent’s post, having succeeded Miss Elizabeth Wills of Lehighton.
