Sunday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, begins at 9:30 a.m. Communion is served by continuous line with wafer placed in your open hand, and wine or grape juice in a small cup. Gluten free wafers are available to those with allergy issues. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides. Coffeehouse fellowship follows in Luther Hall.

Sunday Church School classes for students ages 3 through grade 6 begin at 10:45 a.m. Confirmation class for 7th and 8th grade students is at the same time. Sunday marks the last session before summer break. Confirmation students meet with church council members at 11 a.m. The Rite of Confirmation is May 28.

Community Vacation Bible School is Aug. 1-3 at 6 p.m. Sunday church school resumes Sept. 10.

For those desiring to schedule a baptism or desiring to seek membership at Trinity, please preregister by calling the church office. Pastor Moore will meet with parents for baptismal instructions on Sunday at 1 p.m. New member class guidelines meet at 1 p.m. on May 28.

The Food Pantry continues to be open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents in need who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive prepackaged supplemental food items. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, limited to five bags or boxes. Sales receipts support the food pantry. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/trinitythriftstore.

Registrations are being accepted for the 2023-24 term at Jack & Jill Preschool. Phone the preschool at 610-377-6562 for information.

Trinity’s 150th Anniversary events are winding down: Joint proclamations from local, county & state officials for Zion UCC & Trinity’s 150th anniversaries at 6 p.m. May 20 at the corner of Second and Iron streets, followed by a neighborhood “Faith Walk.” If the weather is unfavorable, the ceremony will take place inside Zion church.

The route for the Faith Walk: proceed uphill (west) on Iron Street to 4th Street, right on 4th St., right on Cedar St., right on South 3rd St., left on Iron St. Enter Luther Hall for Family movie “Jonah” May 20 at 7 p.m. These events are free and all are welcome.

Anniversary festival worship at 3 p.m. June 4, followed by a catered meal. RSVP for the meal by contacting the church office by May 21. The next planning meeting is at 12:15 p.m. May 21.

Trinity is honored to be overnight host to the visiting Illini 4000 Bike Team. The Illini 4000 is a nonprofit student-run organization from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign dedicated to documenting the American cancer experience, raising funds for cancer research and patient support services, as well as spreading awareness for the fight against cancer through an annual cross-country bike ride. The Lehighton stop is third on their route to San Francisco. Everyone is invited to meet and greet the team as they arrive May 29 at the Lehighton Trailhead, D&L Trail Spur, near Stanley Hoffman Blvd., 1-4 p.m. They depart early the next morning pedaling on the D&L Trail & continue on to their next stop in Milton. Christ Evangelical Free Church, 2420 Blakeslee Blvd., Dr., West in Lehighton invites you to their weekly worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m.

• Sunday School for children and youth every Sunday 11 a.m. (except 1st Sunday of the month)
