A motorcyclist was killed Sunday night when involved in a crash along Route 248 in Palmerton. The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. as the biker was traveling east about a half mile east of the Bowmanstown exit. Area fire companies and fire police maintained traffic control at the scene, shutting down the roadway east bound lanes at Bowmanstown.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said the victim was male but he did not have an identity Sunday night.

Palmerton police are investigating the incident.
