Sr. Games wind down, South leads

It’s the last day of the 2023 Carbon County Senior Games and South Carbon County seniors continue a commanding the lead.

After six days of competition, Lehighton and Palmerton have a combined score of 696.

But North Carbon County seniors, made up of Jim Thorpe, Panther Valley and Weatherly, are hanging in there with a combined score of 491.

Tuesday’s events included bowling.

Bowling

Men’s results by age group:

• 60 to 64: Rich DeCray of Lehighton, gold; Norb Lienhard of Jim Thorpe, silver; and Smokey Krajnak of Panther Valley, bronze.

• 65 to 69: Keith Serfass of Palmerton, gold; Eugene Hettler of Lehighton, silver; and Don Gouger of Palmerton, bronze.

• 70 to 74: George Mathews of Panther Valley, gold; Bruce Frisch of Palmerton, silver; and James Ketchledge of Lehighton, bronze.

• 75 to 79: James Laverick of Jim Thorpe, gold; Larry Williams of Lehighton, silver; and Duane Costenbader of Palmerton, bronze.

• 80 to 84: Ron Bowman of Lehighton, gold; Jack Stranger of Lehighton, silver; and Bob Bochantin of Jim Thorpe, bronze.

• 85 to 89: Anthony DiMicelli of Panther Valley, gold; Reuben Zellner of Lehighton, silver; and Carl Brownmiller of Lehighton, bronze.

Women’s results by age:

• 60 to 64: Kathy Zanders of Lehighton, gold; and Jodi Schweizer of Lehighton, silver.

• 65 to 69: Kathy Frisch of Palmerton, gold; Lynnette Moyer of Lehighton, silver; and Fae Wentz of Palmerton, bronze.
