State police at Frackville - crashes

State police at Frackville released information on crashes:

• No one was injured in a two-vehicle mishap that happened at 12:15 p.m. on April 22 at the intersection of Route 54 and Crystal Lane in Ryan Township.

Police said it happened when Daniel J. Kerbacher, 72, of Berwick, operating a 2006 Toyota Avalon, failed to yield to a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Richard A. Light, 75, of Barnesville. Police said the Avalon struck the passenger’s side of the Equinox.

Both vehicles needed to be towed from the scene.

• Police said a 2013 International truck caught fire due to an unknown vehicle failure issue while it was traveling on Route 209 in Schuylkill Township at 3:13 p.m. on April 25.

David F. Seiders, 52, of Pottsville, was driving the truck and brought it to rest off the southbound lane.

The New England (Walker Township), Mary-D (Schuylkill Township) and Citizen’s (Tamaqua) fire companies responded and extinguished the fire.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• Police were summoned at 12:30 a.m. on April 21 to the intersection of the Burma and Morea roads in Mahanoy Township after a vehicle became stuck in a drainage basis.

Police said the 2021 Silverado left its lane of travel, causing the driver’s side front tire to become lodged in the basin.

• Jean R. Dorico-Garcia, 30, of Hazleton, was cited after an incident at 3:29 p.m. on April 28 on Catawissa Street in Schuylkill Township.

Police said she was driving a 1996 Toyota in light rain and wet road conditions when she lost control of the car, causing it to strike a utility pole. She was uninjured.

Police said the woman made her own arrangements to have the vehicle removed from the scene.

• A driver of a 2021 Toyota Tacoma escaped injuries after the vehicle struck a deer at 7:47 p.m. on April 27 on Interstate 81.

Police said it happened at mile marker 134 in Delano Township when the Tacoma was southbound.

The vehicle was able to be driven from the scene, police said.

• Mary R. Reinhart, 68, of Conyngham, was cited by police for vehicles turning left after a two-vehicle crash at 7:11 p.m. on April 16 at the intersection of Fairview Street and Claremont Avenue in Rush Township.

Police said he was driving a 2007 Toyota Yaris that made a left turn onto Fairview Street and entered the path of a 2019 Nissan Rogue driven by Allen S. Bodnar, 27, of McAdoo.

Police said the two vehicles collided with the Yaris, spinning about 180 degrees, crossing over both lanes of travel and coming to rest on the center median. The Rogue struck a pole before coming to a halt.

Police said Reinhart was transported by McAdoo Fire Company ambulance personnel to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Hazleton, while Bodnar was injured and taken to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Coaldale. Police said the extent of his injuries in unknown.

Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
