State police at Fern Ridge - crashes

State police at Frackville report on the following crashes:

• Giancarlo P. Aguilar, 22, of Saylorsburg, was cited for driving on roadways laned for traffic after a one-vehicle crash at 7:08 a.m. on April 23 on Sugar Hollow Road in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2022 Honda west when it went off the road and struck a utility pole. The car sustained disabling damages and was towed from the scene.

Aguilar was uninjured.

• The driver of a tractor trailer that struck a Jeep on State Street in East Side Borough at 8:14 a.m. on April 21 was cited for careless driving.

Police said the 2006 International truck and trailer was backing down a hill that the truck was unable to climb. At that time, a 1994 Jeep Cherokee turned onto State Street from Center Street and was struck by the trailer.

Police said the Jeep was towed from the scene. The driver was cited for operating a vehicle without a certificate of inspection.

• A 17-year-old Kunkletown boy escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 6:31 p.m. on April 24 on Route 115 in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said he was driving a 2015 Dodge Durango southbound when it traveled off the right shoulder of the road and struck a utility support pole. It continued south, crossed Weir Lake Road and struck a utility pole with its left front.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

•Two vehicles were damaged but were drivable after a mishap at 7:40 a.m. on April 27 at the intersection of Route 903 and the Interstate 476 (Turnpike) ramps in Penn Forest Township. No one was injured.

State police said a 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling north on Route 903 turned left onto the I-476 ramp directly in front of a 2022 Mercedes-Benz, causing the collision.
