Jeremy T. Glaush, of Lehighton, announces his candidacy for Lehighton Area School Board of Directors.

Glaush, a current director, lives in Lehighton with his girlfriend, children and two dogs.

“I didn’t grow up in Lehighton, but I did grow up in a small town very much like it called Tunkhannock,” Glaush said. “I settled in Lehighton to raise my family in 2011. I work at Ironton Telephone Co. as the network operations coordinator.”

In 2021, he was appointed to one of the vacant seats on the newly seated board.

“Having four children in the district motivated me to accept this appointment, because I want my children to have a positive school experience. I had concerns for years hearing that the district was being poorly run and that student safety was a concern. I never actually knew how bad things were until I saw them for myself,” he said.

“From day one, the board hit the ground running and together have done some amazing things.”

Glaush also serves as the Lehighton director of the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit.

“Serving on the CLIU board, I have come to learn a lot about the wonderful services they provide for children with special needs,” he said.

And he serves on the Carbon Career and Technical Institute Joint Operating Committee.

“Through my interactions with CCTI, I have learned the amazing technical training and education that CCTI provides to the children from the five districts it handles.

“All in all, I would say my experience has shown me how each organization interacts with our students to provide the most effective path for them to succeed in life.

“I have worked with a 9-member board with sometimes differing opinions, but 100 percent on the same page with placing the needs of the children first,” he said.

He is running with current board members April Walker, Heather Neff, Richard “Rusty” Beltz and newcomer Sean Gleaves.

“I humbly ask that you vote for the Build a Board team, because together we can continue the work that we started in 2021,” Glaush said.
