State police at the Hazleton barracks are investigating the passing of 24 counterfeit $20 bills.

Police said they were called to the Walmart store in Hazle Township where it was reported the bills were passed at a register between 3 to 5 p.m. on April 24.

The value of the fake bills was reported to be $480, police said.
