Parents for Playgrounds last night achieved their goal of acquiring tot playgrounds in Lansford. Headed by William Knepper Jr. of West Abbott Street, the group received approval of the Lansford Borough Council to locate a playground in the southwest portion of Kennedy Park on Cortright and West Patterson streets.

This area will be fenced in and recreation equipment, suitable for preschool toddlers, will be authorized at a future meeting of the council.

A similar playground was requested at the east end in the community and a proposed site will be studied.
