A 12-year-old boy from Saylorsburg sustained minor injuries when a bicycle he was riding on Cottontail Lane in Chestnuthill Township was struck by a vehicle.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks the mishap took place at 9:42 a.m. April 21.

They said a 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Carol L. Salvo, 50, of Saylorsburg, was unable to stop and struck the bicycle.

Police said the boy was transported by personnel from the West End Community Ambulance to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, to be evaluated.
