Northwestern posted a pair of wins - one in softball and another in girls lacrosse - on Tuesday.

In other action, the Pleasant Valley girls lacrosse team remained undefeated with a victory over Northampton.

SOFTBALL

So. Lehigh-N’western

After being held scoreless through three innings, Northwestern exploded for eight runs in the fourth en route to a 14-3 Colonial League victory over Southern Lehigh.

Abby Dunstan’s three-run homer highlighted the big frame.

Emma Freeman finished with three hits, one a triple, and three RBIs for the Tigers, who upped their overall mark to 14-2 and league record to 11-2.

Rylee McGinley added three hits, two of them doubles, two runs and two RBIs, while Isabella Akelaitis finished with two hits, one a double, and four RBIs.

The winners also received a pair of hits and two runs from Dunstan, Shelby Mitman and Quinn Conrey.

The loss dropped the Spartans to 7-10 and 6-8.

BASEBALL

So. Lehigh-N’western

Southern Lehigh’s Luke Lea pitched a three-hit shutout to lead the Spartans to a 1-0 Colonial League victory over Northwestern.

Lea struck out seven and didn’t walk a batter. Of his 92 pitches, 71 were strikes.

The winning hurler also knocked in the game’s only run in the sixth inning when his single brought home Janssen Brown, who had reached on a double.

The Tigers’ Joshua Farber, who received a no decision, tossed five shutout innings. Farber gave up four hits and two walks while fanning one.

Farber, Aidan Freeman and Robert Croneberger all had hits for Northwestern, which fell to 10-7 overall and 8-6 in the league.

The Spartans, who lead the CL’s West Division, are now 14-1 and 13-1.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Pleasant Vy.-N’hampton

Pleasant Valley made it 16 wins in a row after cruising to a 20-5 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Northampton.

Devon Bush and Rylee Rath both finished with seven goals for the Bears. Bush added three assists, while Rath had a pair of helpers.

PV (16-0) also received four goals and four assists from Olivia Iandoli, while Morgan Ryals and Ashley Palmieri each contributed a score. Keylee Dugey chipped in with two assists.

The loss dropped Northampton to 1-16.

N’western-Moravian A.

Ava Collins scored seven goals to help lift Northwestern to a 16-10 Colonial League victory over Moravian Academy.

Alexis Vennera added four goals and an assist for the Tigers, while Sydney Wright finished with three scores.

The winners also received a goal from both Claire Costa and Olivia Costa.

Megan Dudio paced the Lions with five goals.

Northwestern improved to 8-6, while Moravian dropped to 5-6.
