State police at the Lehighton barracks said they initiated a chase of a fleeing sport bike driver after they attempted to stop the vehicle for violations at 8:21 p.m. April 25.

Police said they attempted to pull over the bike at Apple and Lime streets in Bowmanstown but the driver turned right from Apple Street onto East Fireline Road.

The driver continued east before turning onto Dairy Road where the pursuit was ended with the safety of the public and the suspect in mind.
