A Tamaqua man suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 4:40 p.m. Saturday on Valley Road in Walker Township.

State police at the Frackville barracks said Jacob B. DeMarco, 18, was driving a 2008 Suzuki SX4 southbound and negotiating a left curve in the road while traveling too fast for conditions. Police said he lost control of the vehicle, which left the roadway, struck an embankment and rolled onto its driver’s side.

Police said DeMarco was treated at the scene by personnel from the Tamaqua Ambulance Association and did not require a medical transport.

He was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.
