Pocono Garden Club hosts Mother’s Day tea

A Mother’s Day Tea and a lesson in orchid growing are on the menu when the Pocono Garden Club meets at 1 p.m. May 9, 2023, at the Monroe County Conservation District, 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville.

Bring your favorite tea cup. The club will be serving tea from its traditional tea set.

The meeting’s design entry is called “Honoring Mom” and will be a petite design in a tea cup. Maximum size is 8- by 8- by 8-inches, including the container.

The horticulture entry will be any flowering bulb, a single stem in a clear container, or a collection of hosta leaves in a clear container with water.

The houseplant entry will be any begonia.

Refreshments are welcomed to accompany the tea.

The club is gearing up for its annual flower show and plant sale, themed “Lights on Broadway,” to be held Saturday July 8, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 158 Fish Hill Road, Tannersville.
