State police at the Frackville barracks said a fire marshal was called to the scene of a fire that happened at 3:25 p.m. April 22 at 36 Water St. in New Philadelphia.

Police said the New Philadelphia Fire Department, along with mutual aid companies, responded to the structure fire and found a working fire with heavy fire conditions from the front and first floor of the building.

Police said the fire marshal was summoned to determine the origin and cause of the blaze.
