Fern Ridge State Police
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reporting on the following cases:
• A 46-year-old woman from Albrightsville is facing theft/bad check charges. Police said they were called to 15 Shakespeare Drive, Penn Forest Township, at 3:24 p.m. March 23 when they were told the woman knowingly wrote the victim a bad check to pay for services provided by the victim.
• A 59-year-old Kunkletown man was committed to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, on terroristic threats charges after state police were summoned to a domestic dispute at 4:55 p.m. March 31.
It happened at a residence in Chestnuthill Township where the victim, a 67-year-old man from Kunkletown, told police the arrestee threatened to kill him.
• A 40-year-old Saylorsburg man and a 42-year-old Blakeslee woman were taken into custody at 10:44 a.m. April 8 on charges of prohibitive offensive weapons.
Police said they responded to a site on Burrus Boulevard in Chestnuthill Township for a disturbance/possible assault and determined the two people had active warrants against them in the NCIC system. A search incident to the arrest was conducted, which revealed further evidence associated with criminal activity, police said.
• Police are investigating a sexual assault incident that was reported at 1:27 p.m. April 17.
Police said the report was made to the Safe2Say program, which related a 13-year-old girl is the victim of the assault which took place at a home on Park Avenue, Tobyhanna Township.
• A suspect is facing indirect criminal contempt charges for violating a Protection From Abuse order in the Monroe County Court of Common Pleas.
State police at the Fern Ridge said they were summoned at midnight April 14 to property on Adean Drive, Chestnuthill Township, when the victim, a 36-year-old man from Effort, reported the suspect violated the order by sending the victim a text message that was not necessary for the custody of their minor children.
