DUI/DRUG CASES

Area state police reported on the following cases:

• Justin Vega, 35, of Danielsville, was stopped by state police at the Bethlehem barracks for driving under the influence after a traffic stop.

Police said he was stopped at 2:05 a.m. March 15 at Race and West Main streets in Bath while he was driving a BMW.

•A 50-year-old Reading woman was charged with driving under the influence after a two-vehicle crash at 1:06 p.m. April 1 on Route 61 in North Manheim Township.

State police at the Schuylkill Haven barracks said the vehicles involved included a 2016 Toyota and a 2015 Jeep Renegade.

• Rafael Capellan Diaz, 24, of Allentown, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said he was stopped for vehicle code violations while driving a 2008 Ford Escape at 5:11 p.m. April 11 on Interstate 80 in East Side Borough.

• A 33-year-old man from Brooklyn, New York, is facing charges of driving under the influence of alcohol following a one-vehicle crash at 12:16 a.m. April 16 at the intersection of Route 715 and Mountain Road in Jackson Township.

State police at Fern Ridge said they were summoned there for a crash involving a 2008 Honda Odyssey and determined the driver was DUI. He was taken into custody and transported to the Monroe County Correctional Facility, Snydersville, for processing.

• A 25-year-old Albrightsville man is facing drug possession charges following a traffic stop.

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said they stopped the man for vehicle code violations while he was driving a 2004 Acura at 11:36 p.m. April 12 on Gilbert Road in Chestnuthill Township.

• State police at the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned at 11:49 a.m. April 14 to Elmwood Court, Chestnuthill Township, for a report of found drug paraphernalia.

Police said they seized the items and entered them into evidence at the police station. The items will be destroyed as per department regulations, police said.
