Tamaqua Seniors
The Tamaqua Senior Citizens met on April 20 with 24 members in attendance. President Mary Bittle opened the meeting with the reading “Live Each Day.”
Carol Sedlock was added to the sick list. A trip to Dutchway Restaurant, Myerstown is scheduled for May 17. An indoor picnic is being planned for Aug. 10 at the Coaldale Complex.
The group meets at 1 p.m. every Thursday at the Coaldale Complex. Anyone 55 and older is invited to attend.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. worship service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Sunday school is scheduled for 9:30 a.m.
Women’s Bible Study will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 1 at Memorial Hall.
Diaper Depot
Diaper Depot, the free diaper ministry at Zion Lutheran Church in Tamaqua, is accepting new clients for its May 20 distribution.
You must be a resident of the Tamaqua Area School District and make a request at www.ziontamaqua.com by May 12. No requests can be accepted after that date. You will be given an appointment time for the May 20 distribution.
The first time you pick up diapers, you must present a birth certificate for the child or children and some type of proof of residence. Diapers are available for children up to age 4 sizes NB to 6 and pull-ups 2T-3T and 3T-4T.
Diaper Depot is a community pantry of the Greater Philadelphia Diaper Bank. Zion is located at the corner of Greenwood and Mauch Chunk streets in Tamaqua.
