Benjamin J. Ritter, 21, of Fogelsville, was injured in a one-vehicle crash at 12:55 a.m. March 5 on Route 873 in Washington Township.

State police at the Bethlehem barracks said this week he was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township. They said the extent of his injuries is unknown.

Police said he was driving a 2004 Honda Accord that left the roadway, striking an embankment, and then proceeded to rash into a single-family home. The vehicle continued through the property before striking a tree.

Police said Ritter fled the scene but was located in Slatington. He was charged with driving under the influence of “the highest rate” alcohol.

The vehicle sustained disabling damages.
