State police at Stroudsburg incidents

State police at Stroudsburg report the following incidents.

• Police said they were notified of the theft of a wallet belonging to a Ross Township woman at 10 a.m. March 18.

• A 62-year-old Stroudsburg man reported an identity theft incident that at 5:33 p.m. March 16.

Police said they were called to a property on Buck Ridge Road in Hamilton Township, where the victim related an AT&T account had been opened in his name and a charge of $1,541 was on the account. Police said the victim made a claim to the utility’s fraud department and the charge was restored.

• A 60-year-old man from the Bronx, New York, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance and driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop made by police at 12:04 a.m. March 21.

Police said they stopped the 2015 GMC terrain at the intersection of Route 209 and Weir Lake Road in Chestnuthill Township, after which time they found the driver to be in possession of marijuana and cash.

• Francis J. Joseph, 48, of Brooklyn, New York, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 3:28 a.m. March 7 on Polk Valley Road in Hamilton Township.

Police said he was driving a 2001 Honda Odyssey westbound when he lost control of it, veered off the road and hit a tree. Police said the roadway was snow-covered at the time.

The vehicle was towed from the scene.

• An East Stroudsburg woman fell asleep while driving a vehicle on Rimrock Road in Hamilton Township at 6:45 a.m. April 1, resulting in her being cited.

Police said Faith K. Baltimore, 21, was driving a 2017 Hyundai Tucson northbound when it collided with a utility pole on the right side of Rimrock Drive, splitting the pole in two. The car proceeded into the tree line and collided with a tree on the right side of the road. It needed to be towed from the scene. She was cited.

• A 51-year-old East Stroudsburg man was cited with false alarms/dialing devices after police responded to a false alarm at a residence along Rimrock Drive in Hamilton Township, at 8:33 a.m. Dec. 23, 2022.

Police said it was the fifth false alarm that was recorded in a span of 12 consecutive months.

• A 43-year-old Saylorsburg man was charged with driving under the influence after a traffic stop at 12:26 a.m. March 6 at the intersection of Silver Valley Road and Deer Lane in Chestnuthill Township.

Police said after stopping his vehicle for traffic violations they found the driver to be impaired, taking him into custody.
