State police at Fern Ridge - crashes
State police at Fern Ridge released information on the following crashes”
• No one was injured in a two-vehicle mishap at 10:28 a.m. April 10 at the intersection of Route 715 and the Effort-Neola Road in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said it happened when a 2001 Toyota Camry driven by Andrew K. Kurtz, 68, of Saylorsburg, was eastbound on the Effort-Neola Road when he turned left at the intersection prior to the area being cleared. The car struck a 2013 Honda Civic operated southbound on Route 715 by Daniel J. Quijano Krouse, 33, of Palmerton.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene, police said.
• Two people were involved in a two-vehicle crash at 9:24 p.m. March 31 on Interstate 80 westbound in Kidder Township.
Kevin S. McGuire, 58, and Ashley A. McGuire, 37, both of Mountain Top, were transported by personnel from the American Patient Transport Systems to the Geisinger-Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre.
Police said the mishap occurred when a 2023 Kenworth tractor trailed driven by Mukhammad Kobilov, 25, of Brooklyn, New York, attempted to merge into the right lane. Police said Kobilov failed to observe 2000 Buick Century driven by Kevin McGuire, causing the Buick to strike the rig and a guide rail.
Police said Kobilov was cited for the crash. He was uninjured.
• The driver of a vehicle that was involved in a crash at 6:57 p.m. March 29 at the intersection of Twin Lake Road and North Shore Drive in Indian Mountain Lakes, Penn Forest Township, escaped injuries.
Police said the 2002 Honda Civic experienced suspected front suspension issued causing the driver to leave the roadway.
The vehicle was towed from the scene.
• Two drivers had minor injuries in a crash at 5:28 p.m. April 3 at the intersection of Weir Lake Road and Kinsley Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they were treated at the scene by personnel from the West End Fire Company.
Police said the crash occurred when a 2020 Honda Civic driven by Debra S. Raneri, 61, of Bartonsville, was eastbound on Weir Lake Road and the operator attempted to turn left onto Kinsley Drive, striking the front of a 2015 Hyundai Elantra driven by Kristina G. Ficke, 43, of Gilbert.
The vehicles were towed from the scene.
