Social media post prompts school alert

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks were summoned to Pleasant Valley High School, 1671 Route 209, Brodheadsville, at 5:49 p.m. April 16 to investigate a terroristic threat incident involving a social media posting.

Police said an unknown person, possibly a student who attends the school, expressed on the social media “Discord” app “what if I shoot up the school.”

Police said the incident was reported to Safe2Say Something PA, which then contacted state police.

The school had extra security precautions in place.
