Nesquehoning has set a cleanup of a road that has become a site for illegal dumping for Saturday.
Residents who wish to help clean up Industrial Road, located in the Hauto Valley Estates portion of the borough, are asked to meet at the Nesquehoning Conservation Club pond, located just off the Y between Park Avenue and Industrial Road in the Hauto Valley Estates, at 9 a.m.
Volunteers will then be provided with gloves, safety vests and garbage bags. If you have a trash picker or grabber, you are urged to bring it with you.
The cleanup will take place from the soccer field to Dennison Road.
Volunteers should wear appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear because there will be some high grass and possible damp or muddy conditions.
Once the trash is collected, volunteers can take the bags to the borough garage, where they will be taken to Tamaqua Transfer for disposal.
For questions, contact the borough office at 570-669-9588. There is no need to register for the cleanup.
In the event of rain, a rain date has been scheduled for April 29.
