State Police at Fogelsville incidents
State police at Fogelsville reported on the following incidents:
• A 59-year-old woman from New Tripoli is the victim of a theft by deception incident that was reported to state police at 9:48 a.m. April 7.
Police said the woman, who lives along Lyon Valley Road in Weisenberg Township, reported she attempted to apply for unemployment benefits but learned a fraudulent claim was opened in her name for the period of July, 2021, through January, 2022.
Police said the information was forwarded to the PA Department of Labor.
• A 26-year-old man from Slatington was charged with simple assault/harassment after they were called to the Wawa store, Willow Lane, Lower Macungie Township, at 8:52 p.m. March 22.
Police said the victim is a 26-year-old woman from Slatington.
They said during an active domestic incident the man began punching and kicking the victim’s vehicle in the parking lot before fleeing the scene.
Police said they later apprehended the man.
• Police are investigating a trespass incident that happened at a garage off Camp Meeting Road in Lynn Township.
Police said they were summoned there at 9:38 a.m. March 30 when it was reported someone entered the garage at the rear of a house through a hole in the garage and removed a piece of plywood.
Police said an alcohol bottle was found in a plastic box in front of the residence.
• A 52-year-old Palmerton man is facing drug possession charges after an apparent traffic stop they made at 11:57 p.m. April 6.
Police said they stopped the man while he was driving a 209 Ford Mustang at the intersection of Route 309 and Terrace Road in South Whitehall Township.
• Police responded to a disturbance between 1:30-2 a.m. March 4 at the Leather Corner Post, Horseshoe Road, Lowhill Township.
Police said the incident happened when two males were involved in a physical altercation in the parking lot of the business.
• Police said a 69-year-old New Tripoli woman is the victim of a fraudulent income tax return incident that was reported to them on March 28.
Police said they were summoned to a property on King’s Highway, Lynn Township, where the woman told them she was notified by the Internal Revenue Service that someone filed a fraudulent claim in her name. Police said the victim said the IRS fraud department flagged the claim and she did not sustain any loss of money through the incident.
• A 39-year-old Whitehall man was charged with harassment and criminal mischief after police were summoned to a property on Steinsville Road in Lynn Township at 7:57 a.m. March 31.
Police said a 38-year-old woman from Kempton who related she and the man were involved in a verbal altercation that turned physical when he grabbed her by the arms while shaking her and then dragged her around the room. Police said the man took the victim’s cellphone, threw it on the ground and bent it, breaking the case before leaving the scene before police’s arrival.
Police said the phone has a value of $350.
