John W. “Bud” Angst of Nesquehoning was recommended last night to fill the vacant Republican seat on the Carbon County Board of Commissioners that exists after the death of Commissioner Howard Krill.

Angst, 56, a former commissioner, was selected by a 12-10 vote of the executive committee of the Carbon County Republican Party held in the Courthouse, Jim Thorpe.

He was victorious over Jean Kistler of Palmerton, who was the only other vote recipient for the seat.

Also seeking nomination were Wilbur A. Bauchspies of Lehighton, Joseph L. Boyle of Jim Thorpe and Gregory DeMilio of Summit Hill.
