Several people were injured during a fire early Tuesday morning in Chestnuthill Township.
West End Fire Company Chief Mike Manfre Jr. said the fire broke out at 3:43 a.m. at the single family dwelling at 1616 Roberts Road, Sun Valley.
Manfre said the fire appeared to have started in the rear of the house.
“Heavy fire,” Manfre said. “The whole house was fully involved.”
Manfre said firefighters set up a water supply and had to set up a fill site.
He said the occupants were home, and all got out by either assisting each other, or by neighbors helping.
Manfre said two civilians were transported for their injuries.
He said firefighters had the fire under control within about a half-hour, and then did overhaul, adding they were on scene for about four hours.
Manfre said the home is a total loss.
He said the cause of the fire is being investigated by a state fire marshal.
Manfre said also assisting at the scene were the Polk Township Fire Company, Jackson Township Fire Company, Tunkhannock Fire Company, and Lehigh Valley Health Network EMS.
