Three juveniles vandalized the concession stand at the Lansford pool Monday afternoon, Bruce Markovich, borough council president, said Wednesday morning.

The juveniles – two from Lansford and one from Coaldale – broke into the stand, trashed the interior, removed cases of water stored inside and dumped bleach over fundraising supplies used by Friends of the Pool, he said.

This is the latest in ongoing issues of vandalism, Markovich said.

Last week, the pump house was broken into and someone built a small campfire inside, and last year, the bathrooms and changing room were vandalized, he said.

Friends of the Pool spent $2,300 last year to the get the stand and equipment inside cleaned and painted, he said.

In the most recent incident, someone photographed the juveniles going in and out of the concession stand, Markovich said. Police are investigating, he said.
