State police at Lehighton released information about area crashes:

• Samuel A. Bortnick, 20, of Philadelphia, suffered minor injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:01 p.m. March 10 on Behrens Road in Penn Forest Township.

Police said he was transported by the Lehighton Ambulance Association personnel to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Carbon Campus, Franklin Township.

Police said he was driving a 2012 Toyota Camry east on Broad Mountain View Drive when he failed to stop for a posted stop sign at an intersection and traveled across Behrens Road, went off the east shoulder of the road and struck a tree.

The car was towed from the scene.

Police said Bortnick was cited for the crash.

• Cassandra S. Williams, 21, of New Ringgold, escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 7:47 a.m. March 2 on West Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township.

State police at the Lehighton barracks said she was driving a 1998 Ford Escort eastbound when she lost control of it, causing it to go off the road and strike a guide rail. Police said the car continued to travel forward, sliding to the top of the rail where it came to rest.

The car needed to be towed from the scene, police said.

• A 2014 Subaru Crosstrek struck and damaged a mailbox on Lonesome Lane in Towamensing Township at 7:38 p.m. April 2.

Police said the car was traveling north when the driver failed to maintain its lane of travel, left the road and struck the mailbox owned by a 55-year-old man and 59-year-old woman, both from Palmerton.

Police said the driver, who they believe was driving under the influence of alcohol, fled the scene.
