The Panther Valley softball team posted a win over the weekend.
SOFTBALL
Panther Valley-Shenandoah Valley
Two big innings allowed Panther Valley to roll to a 17-2 victory.
The Panthers, who lost 15-0 to the Devils earlier in the season, jumped out to an 8-0 first-inning lead and finished things off with a nine-run fourth frame.
Lucy Grego had two hits and three RBIs for PV, while Kaidence Krapf ended with a pair of hits - one a double - and two runs.
Panther Valley (2-5) received two hits, two RBIs and two stolen bases from Mikayla Yuricheck, with Caroline Breslin contributing a hit and two RBIs. Ava Alabovitz earned the win, allowing two hits.

Tunkhannock-Pleasant Valley
Tunkhannock ended Pleasant Valley’s four-game winning streak with an 11-0 victory.
Kaya Hannon pitched a two-hit shutout for the Tigers, striking out six and walking two.
Hannon also had three hits at the plate, including a double and a run. Mckenzie Hannon collected two hits, one a homer, and five RBIs.
PV’s hits came from Jovie Valenzuela and Brianca Pridham. The Bears are now 5-4.

BASEBALL
Schuylkill Haven-Jim Thorpe
A seven-run fifth inning helped Schuylkill Haven post a 12-3 non-league win over Jim Thorpe.
Ian Henkels had three hits, one a double, and scored two runs for the Olympians, while Garrett Lienhard added a single, double and two RBIs.
The Hurricanes (5-1) received three hits, one a triple, and two RBIs from Hunter Correll. Haven’s Ryan Schaeffer contributed two hits, three runs and two RBIs.
Thorpe fell to 2-6.

The loss dropped the Olympians to 0-10.

TRACK
New Balance Pan-Ram Invite
Jim Thorpe took part in the 34th New Balance Pan-Ram Invite at Central Dauphin.
The Olympians girls placed fourth out of 30 teams, while the boys finished 19th out of a field of 35 teams.
Kaila O’Connor placed second in the 100 and 200 for Thorpe. The Olympians grabbed a first-place finish in the girls 3200 relay, and added a third-place finish in the 1600 relay.
Nicole Carroll (400), Celia Rodriguez Gonzalez (3200), and Katrin Cavanaugh (pole vault) all placed fifth, as did Kolby Cavanaugh in the triple jump for the Jim Thorpe boys.
