One person was injured Saturday afternoon in a crash in Mahoning Township. The crash occurred around 5:30 p.m. along Route 443 at the entrance to the Carbon Plaza Mall. It appeared the driver was traveling east and struck a traffic light standard. The driver was entrapped and freed from the wreckage by members of the Mahoning Valley fire company using the set of jaws. The victim was treated at the scene by members of the Mahoning Valley ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a nearby trauma center. Mahoning Township police are investigating the incident.
