The Carbon County Commissioners on Saturday made some long-standing appointments to fill vacancies on two authority boards.

Appointed to the Planning Commission for six-year terms were Dr. John Polumbo, Lansford, succeeding Bert Silver, Lansford, J. Edgar Smith, Penn Forest Township, succeeding Luther Getz, Penn Forest Township, and Paul Balliet, Lehighton, succeeding William Danneberg, Palmerton. Harold Hamm, Towamensing Township, was reappointed to the commission.

The commissioners also renamed David Foster, Mahoning Township, to a five-year term on the Carbon County Airport Authority.
