Barbara James, left, and Carol Donaghy hand out fruit and bread at the Effort United Methodist Church as the church observed Maundy Thursday, observance of Jesus and the disciples with a last supper. The meal was free and you did not have to be a member of the church, all were welcome. The meal included two kinds of homemade soup along with a large assortment of breads, cheese, grapes and strawberries.
