Police respond to incidents at Palmerton, Panther schools

State police at the Lehighton barracks reported today they were summoned in March to separate incidents involving students in the Panther Valley and Palmerton Area school districts.

Police said they were called to the Panther Valley School District, 1 Panther Way, Lansford, at 3 p.m. March 7 for a case they labeled “terroristic threats.”

Police said a 9-year-old boy made threats to two girls, ages 11 and 12, on a district school bus upon dismissal.

Police said they were called to the Palmerton Middle School, Fireline Road, Lower Towamensing Township, at 8 a.m. March 9 for a “disorderly conduct” case.

As a result of the response, a 12-year-old boy from Palmerton was cited after making statements/threats at school that caused alarm to the students and staff, resulting in a “Safe2say” report.
