A New Tripoli man is dead after branches from a tree he was cutting in East Penn Township fell on him Thursday morning.

Carbon County Coroner Robert Miller said Ryan Schock, 19, of New Tripoli, died following the incident.

Miller said the cause of death was traumatic injuries to the head.

He said Schock was pronounced dead at 10:45 a.m.

Miller said Schock’s boss attempted CPR on him.

He said Mahoning Valley Ambulance was the first on the scene.
