Schuylkill County commissioners
Schuylkill County commissioners approved the following actions last week:
• A land lease and right of way agreement on a West Penn Township property for an existing communications tower located off Route 309.
The lease is with Alta R. Dietrich, New Tripoli.
The lease area is about 0.70 acres on the property, and the right of way is the road leading to the tower.
The lease is effective as of April 1 and expires March 31, 2033. The rent is $1,000 per month.
• Domestic Relations employee Melissa Hayes to attend the 60th annual ERICSA training conference in Savannah, Georgia, March 22-26.. The total cost for the conference and related travel will be paid from the Domestic Relations Incentives Fund. The total costs are not to exceed $2,220, and include four overnight stays.
• An agreement between the county Children & Youth Services Agency and Alaysha Cheeks, MSW, LCSW, Harrisburg, to provide forensic evaluation and counseling services.
Court-ordered, forensic clinical services will be billed at $200 per hour, and voluntary clinical services at $125 per hour.
The agreement runs from July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023.
• Tetra Tech Inc. to assist the county with the 2024 Hazard Mitigation Plan update.
The county’s current plan will expire on March 19, 2024. The plan will address all state requirements, will receive approval pending adoption from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and will provide a strategy and solid foundation for building community resilience.
• A resolution concerning the update of the county’s comprehensive Recreation, Park and Open Space and Greenway plan, and approve the submission of a grant application to the state Department of Conservation and Natural Resources through the Community Conservation Partnership Program.
• The $17,418 Schuylkill County Victims of Crime Act grant application for year one, October 2023 to September 2024.
