State police in Stroudsburg charged a Monroe County woman last week with illegally buying guns for a felon. The charges were the result of an investigation that began in 2021.

Police said Latias Yasmin Bryant, 24, of Bushkill bought 19 guns for felon Tyheem Downs of East Stroudsburg.

Bryant and Downs had charges filed on them for the straw purchases through Magisterial District Judge Bridge Germano in Marshalls Creek. Bryant was arraigned and Downs is in custody in New York City, awaiting extradition.

The investigation was conducted by the PSP Stroudsburg Criminal Investigation Unit, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives – New York City, and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.
