Fern Ridge State Police
• State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following incidents. Troopers did not identify the people involved:
• Troopers are investigating an identity theft incident in which a 46-year-old man from Albrightsville is the victim.
Police said they were called at 11:50 a.m. March 18 to a property on Parkside Avenue, Tobyhanna Township, where the victim reported someone stole his identity to open a new bank account at a M&T Bank branch office.
Police said the victim was advised of the incident by bank personnel, who canceled the account. They said the victim did not lose any funds through the scheme.
• A 21-year-old man from Bethlehem escaped injuries in a one-vehicle crash at 12:17 p.m. March 10 on Interstate 80 in East Side Boro.
State police at the Fern Ridge barracks said he was driving a 2005 Subaru Outback eastbound when it struck a large piece of debris (automobile part) in the road. Police said the vehicle needed to be towed from the scene.
• A 51-year-old Kunkletown man was arrested by state police at the Fern Ridge barracks for criminal mischief after they responded to a burglary in progress at 8:59 p.m. March 19 at a property along Mountain View Drive in Polk Township.
Police said the victim is a 43-year-old woman from Kunkletown.
Police said they were told the man left the scene before their arrival but it is alleged he intentionally damages the victim’s cameras at the home.
• State police were summoned at 5:37 p.m. March 17 to a property on Winding Way, Chestnuthill Township, to investigate a theft incident.
The victim is a 76-year-old woman from Saylorsburg who reported a package was stolen from her mailbox.
Police said the package contained heart worm medicine valued at $46.
• A 39-year-old Brodheadsville man and a 43-year-old Albrightsville woman were issued citations for harassment after state police at the Fern Ridge barracks responded to an incident at 6:23 p.m. March 17 at a property on Snyder Lane in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they responded to a report of a 911 hang-up with yelling in the background and upon arrival discovered a physical altercation occurred between the couple.
