Justin Grimley, 29, of Tobyhanna, is facing attempted homicide charges after state police at the Stroudsburg barracks were called to a residence along Pensyl Creek Road in Hamilton Township at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said the charges were filed in district court in Stroudsburg. Police said Grimley stabbed his mother, a 58-year-old woman from Stroudsburg, in the chest.

Police did not name the woman or give the status of her injuries.
