State police reports

A 35-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing harassment charges after state police at Lehighton were called to an incident at 2:27 a.m. March 16 along Coyote Drive in Penn Forest Township. Police said the man physically harassed a 62-year-old woman from Jim Thorpe during a domestic dispute in their common residence.

• A 28-year-old Jim Thorpe man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop made by state police at Lehighton. Police said they stopped the man in a 2009 Pontiac for a Title 75 violation along Lehigh Drive in Palmerton.

• State police at Lehighton charged a 39-year-old Lehighton man with drug possession at 12:14 a.m. March 12. Police said he was found to be in possession of suspected heroin/fentanyl at a property on James Lane in Towamensing Township. Police said he was processed and released.

• A 59-year-old Kunkletown man was cited for disorderly conduct by state police at Fern Ridge after they were called to a domestic dispute in the 5100 block of Hickory Lane, Chestnuthill Township, at 12:37 a.m. March 18. Police said upon arrival yelling could be heard from the residence. Police said contact was made with the man who was then cited.

• Gretchen H. Heery, 52, of Lehighton, was uninjured in a two-vehicle mishap at 5:43 p.m. March 10 on Bethel Road in Pine Grove Township. State police at Schuylkill Haven identified the other driver as David F. Seiders, 52, of Pottsville, who was driving a 2008 Mack truck. Heery was operating a 2012 Infiniti EX35.

• State police at Lehighton said the driver of a vehicle they stopped in East Penn Township is facing drug possession charges. It happened at 7:22 p.m. March 8 in Lehigh Drive in the township, where police made a stop of a vehicle that had a suspended registration and detected an odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle. Police said the driver was found to be in possession of a gallon-size ziplock bag of marijuana.

• Damian Strausberger, 22, of Lansford, is facing harassment charges following a domestic incident to which state police at Lehighton were summoned at 9:16 p.m. March 14. It happened at a property on east Snyder Avenue with the victim being a 24-year-old woman from Lansford.

• A 57-year-old Effort man is facing charges of driving under the influence of narcotics after a traffic stop made by state police at Fern Ridge at 8:50 p.m. March 18 in Long Mountain Road in Chestnuthill Township. Police said they stopped the man for vehicle code violations while he was driving a 2001 Nissan Sentra.

• State police at Lehighton are investigating a criminal mischief incident in which the crops of a local farmer were destroyed by a truck. It happened between 1:20 and 1:30 a.m. March 16 along Correll Road in Eldred Township. A 52-year-old Kunkletown man told police a silver/aluminum-colored pickup truck drove through his field and destroyed the crops.

• A 45-year-old Effort man was cited for harassment by state police at Lehighton following an incident at 2:20 p.m. March 10. It happened along Strohl Drive in Towamensing Township when the man was involved in an active domestic dispute with a 35-year-old woman from Palmerton.

• A 54-year-old Lehighton man was charged with drug possession after state police at Lehighton stopped him on a bicycle at 3:12 a.m. March 11. Police said he was stopped after they were given a report of a bicyclist traveling toward traffic on Rt. 248 in Franklin Township, after which time police found him to be in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia.

• State police at Fern Ridge said drugs were seized and a driver was arrested for being under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop at 3:17 a.m. March 19 on Block Buck Boulevard in Tobyhanna Township. The driver is a 23-year-old man from Bridgeton, New Jersey, who was initially stopped for vehicle code violations he made in his 2022 Nissan Sentra.
