Slatington Mayor Jeralyn Schoch issued the oath of office to Greg Winokur as the new chief of police.

“It is the Council’s pleasure to introduce to the people of Slatington our new Police Chief Greg Winokur,” Slatington Borough Council President Thomas Bartholomew said.

“Greg comes to us with 21 years of experience with the Bensalem Township Police Department,” Schoch said.

Winokur currently lives in Bensalem, but will be relocating into the Slatington area in the near future. His first day will be March 20

“I’m looking very forward to working; not just with the men and women of the police department; but, also with the community. It’s one of the things that I value most,” Winokur said.

“I look forward to meeting every one of you throughout my tenure here; and, moving forward, to ensure the safety of the community.”
